Death Trap: GH

Ever since Johnny found out that Olivia has been keeping her son's identity a secret he has been offering ominous warnings of the danger that may result from this secret. Based on these warnings I am inclined to believe that someone, likely Johnny, will die because Olivia cannot bring herself to tell the truth. And while I hope that this assessment is incorrect, a variety of factors indicate otherwise. First of all, now that Claudia is dead, Johnny is the only Zacchara in Port Charles, with the exception of Anthony who remains in prison. And Johnny's death would effectively remove the Zacchara family from the canvas of the show, should the writers be so inclined to make this happen. One can also not ignore the fact that with Olivia's gravitation toward Sonny, and Lulu's infatuation with Dante, there really does not seem to be a place for Johnny at the moment. Granted he could have a storyline that didn't involve either of his love interests, but I have seen no evidence of one that didn't somehow coincide with Olivia keeping this secret from Sonny. And obviously the biggest clue that something may happen to Johnny was presented on Tuesday's episode when Sonny ordered him to find out if Tony Bianco, an associate of the Zacchara organization, had anything to do with the recent attempt on his life. Dante noted that Bianco was extremely dangerous, and even pointed out that perhaps Sonny was giving this assignment to Johnny to permanently remove him from Olivia's life. However, if I am wrong and Johnny doesn't die, it may be because Dante saves him. This scenario seems possible because Dante has repeatedly saved numerous people from getting killed, including Sonny and Morgan, a fact that Sonny made reference to on Tuesday. Of course if Dante saves Johnny's life, he would once again be putting himself directly in the line of fire and risking his own life. If this happens it could be a turning point for this storyline, provided that Dante doesn't sustain fatal injuries. In fact it could be the one thing that finally motivates Olivia to tell Sonny the truth, particularly if Dante is injured badly enough to need some sort of transplant that only Sonny can provide.

  1. No one is going to die. Jonny is to well loved to kill off right now. With the way the economy is, they wounldn't kill off one of their most popular character, for fear of losing viewers. I do however, agree that something will happen very soon that will require Olivia to tell Sonny that Dante is his son. I think one of three thigns will happen; 1. Sonny will turn on Dante for some reason, so Olivia will be forced to tell Sonny the truth so he won't kill Dante. 2. As you said, Dante will be wounded to the point where Olivia will be forced to tell Sonny the truth in order to save Dante's life. 3. Lulu will somehow spill the beans (the least likely scenario). Just my opinion.

  2. I don't see Johnny be killed off. They have gone out of their way to reduce his involvement with Michael's shooting. They did not have to do that if their intent was to kill him off. I also think his character is very popular. The same comments were made when they ended Jolu and look what happened...Johnny was moved on and shined and now with Jolivia ending, I have no doubt he will do the same. I just don't understand why people think he is going to die just because his pairing changes. Plus he is in the mob and danger is always supposed to be there. Spixie seem to be exploding so they could very easily have Johnny and Maxie connect when they are both single to see where that goes. Now that the "cheating" aspect of it is gone I'd like to see where that could go.

  3. Hello Anonymous posters!

I appreciate your feedback and opinions-

I have also wondered about a Johnny and Maxie pairing, but so far things don't seem to be heading that way. I agree though that it would be interesting to see where that relationship might go, especially with the Lulu factor. And as I said in this post a lot of things have happened recently that have nothing to do with Johnny's pairing that made me think he might be killed off. I sincerely hope that I am wrong about that because I think it would be a waste to eliminate this character, just as I thought it was a waste when they killed off Georgie,Logan,& Emily. However those three examples prove that no one is safe, so really anything can happen.

10 Ways General Hospital Could Improve

I doubt if I'm alone in saying that there is a lot wrong with General Hospital these days. While it continues to be one of my favorite soaps there are many changes I would make immediately if I had the power. Below is a list of the top ten suggestions I have for the way the show could improve. 1. The Claire/Sonny storyline needs to be dropped. It isn't working. Their conversations are boring and the context of their relationship is, well...icky. 2. Amp up Lisa's craziness. Despite my earlier distaste for a Robin/Patrick/Lisa triangle, the obsessed ex-girlfriend angle is working. It's interesting and very soapy. 3. Ronnie needs to be established as either a cop with a chip on his shoulder or someone who works for Franco. So far I haven't been able to tell whether Ronnie falls more on the side of good or bad because this character hasn't been clearly defined. 4. Brenda's life away from Port Charles and the people that surround it need to become an int...

Darkness and Light: GH

Like many General Hospital fans, I watch the show everyday in a blissful state of denial, never acknowledging the fact that Sonny and Jason are criminals. I find it easy to denounce Mac when he is urging Maxie to stay away from Spinelli, and I cheer for Diane whenever she keeps someone from the Corinthos organization from going to prison. However, as I watched the events of the week unfold, knowing that they were inevitably going to lead to Dante's shooting, my rose-colored glasses came off and I quickly snapped back to reality. I found myself repulsed watching Jason standing in the church during Josslyn's christening, knowing that he had just signed Dante's death certificate without giving it a second thought. I was even repulsed by Spinelli, whose detective work set everything into motion. Moreover, I was sickened by his cavalier attitude regarding Dante's imminent demise, and the fact that he never showed an ounce of remorse or regret until Maxie told him that Lulu h...

Crazy Loves Company: GH

If ever there was a storyline or a character over utilized it would be the saga of Lisa Niles. I am both mentally and physically exhausted by the constant back and forth between Lisa & Robin, Lisa & Patrick, Robin & Patrick, and Robin & everyone else. Now new doctor Terrell has been thrown into the mix as another man powerless against Lisa's charms. It is difficult enough at this point to watch Lisa create a path of destruction all by herself, but now that she has help I'm not sure I have the energy to watch any more of her schemes. Lisa had the potential to be an intriguing soap villain; and for a while it seemed like she may have had the potential to be a redeemable villain (see Miss Diagnosis ). However her crazy behavior as well as the motivation behind this behavior is too much to grasp, particularly for someone who supposedly passed her psych evaluation at Shady Brook. Moreover it doesn't make sense that she could talk someone like Terrell into helping...
