Miss Diagnosis: GH

Like many of you I have thoroughly enjoyed Lisa's descent into madness. Of course now that Patrick has found Robin, and Lisa has essentially laid all her cards on the table, this storyline will have to come to some sort of conclusion. First of all, someone will likely get shot so hopefully Steve will make his way to the cabin where he can help out the injured party, assuming no one gets killed. If, in fact, someone does get shot I hope it is Lisa, but not for the reasons you might think.

If Lisa gets shot, accidentally of course while she and Patrick are fighting over the gun, the bullet may hit her in the head. Since she is a soap character a bullet in the head will not necessarily be fatal, just ask DOOL's E.J. Dimera. If he can be shot in the head and make it through a whole night without medical attention, then Lisa should be fine with three doctors surrounding her immediately after it happens. Of course Lisa's subsequent surgery to remove the bullet will be a tricky one and will require the best possible neurosurgeon to perform it, which is where Patrick comes in. Patrick will be forced to perform the surgery to save her life, but in the process learns the reason behind her instability, a tumor or some sort of growth located on her frontal lobe. This would explain all of Lisa's bizarre behavior, including why she waited so many years to reveal her obsession for Patrick. In addition it would keep Brianna Brown on the show for the foreseeable future and by extension keep Lisa in Patrick and Robin's orbit for a while longer. Not to mention it may create a plausible excuse for a trip back to crazy town later on. That would certainly be preferable to Lisa being thrown in jail, sent to a mental institution, or worst of all...killed.

  1. Paula,

Okay I didn't have time to watch GH yesterday but after reading your post I got right back to kitty and t.v. Sure, a tumor would explain things but I hope that Lisa doesn't shoot Patrick because like hey is anyone noticing Robin hasn't taken her HIV meds? Shouldn't he have grabbed some just in case before he started looking for her? Come on writers. Lisa having a tumor would be a little more creative than the regular loony-tune mental institution path that's been done too many times on GH.

Personally, I just can't wait until Claire Walsh gets pregnant and drops Sonny. That is the purpose, right?

  2. Hi Peggy!

Honestly I don't know what the deal is with Claire and Sonny. To me they're just icky together and I hate seeing them on my screen. I don't know if she still has baby fever or if she really has some formed some sort of attachment with him. It baffles me that he knew she wanted to get pregnant in the beginning though and he slept with her anyway. I'm sure they're using protection, but so were he and Claudia when she decided to poke holes in the condoms!

  3. Paula,

It would have been nice if they had showed a scene where we could see how Patrick got Robin out of the well, and there seems to be some sort of continuity issue with Lisa's arrival but anyway I can't wait for Monday's episode.

I've been slow-forwarding through Sonny/Claire just in case I like miss anything. Nice to know that Claire can spell, eh?

  4. Hi Peggy!

Yeah I wondered about how Patrick got her out of the well too. I guess they couldn't figure out a way to shoot that scene. Maybe Robin was able to climb halfway up, then Patrick leaned down and pulled her the rest of the way up. That's how I pictured it anyway.

LOL, about the Claire thing. When she typed that stuff in on the computer and Sonny was like how did you do that, I thought doesn't anyone besides Spinelli know how to use the computer? For crying out loud they call him everytime they need to do a simple google search! lol!

  5. Paula,

Have we ever seen Sonny use anything technological other than his cellphone? Other than that, we all know how difficult it is to chew gum and google at the same time so this rules out a lot of characters on GH, eh? With all due respect, of course ;)

All About Mia: DOOL

After months of allowing herself to be deceived and manipulated by Nicole and Stefano so that she could keep her baby's adoption intact, only to find out that said baby wasn't hers because her baby had died, one would think that Mia would have enough drama to last a lifetime. Instead it seems that she has picked up a few bad habits from Nicole because she has turned to manipulating Gabi in order to stake her claim on Chad, someone she didn't seem to want a few weeks ago. As if the Mia character wasn't irritating enough already, this newly calculative Mia is actually making me feel sorry for Gabi, which only makes her that much more irritating. I was stunned that she used Nicole's hearing as an opportunity to drive a wedge between Chad and Gabi, the same hearing that they were discussing her baby's death and the kidnapping of Will's baby sister. In doing this she not only undermined Will's importance in her life, but Sydney and Grace's as well...and p

Bad Goodbye: GH

Words cannot express how much I hate the way GH is writing Steve Burton out of the show. I realize his leaving sort of came as a surprise, but in my opinion they could have given him a better send off than the one he is getting. It feels extremely rushed and quite frankly a little convoluted. First of all we have Bernie with his sudden hand-wringing over something that supposedly happened almost a year ago; and he just has to meet Jason on the night he finally reunites with Sam...on the pier no less.  And don't even get me started on how Joe Scully and "Duke Lavery" are involved in all of this. Up until a few months ago Joe was an antiques dealer working in a little known shop that probably wasn't even being used as a front. In addition there is no way Jason would ever allow himself to be shot in the back. He would have looked around the pier to make sure he wasn't walking into an ambush before ever trying to talk to Bernie. However the most upsetting thing about

Darkness and Light: GH

Like many General Hospital fans, I watch the show everyday in a blissful state of denial, never acknowledging the fact that Sonny and Jason are criminals. I find it easy to denounce Mac when he is urging Maxie to stay away from Spinelli, and I cheer for Diane whenever she keeps someone from the Corinthos organization from going to prison. However, as I watched the events of the week unfold, knowing that they were inevitably going to lead to Dante's shooting, my rose-colored glasses came off and I quickly snapped back to reality. I found myself repulsed watching Jason standing in the church during Josslyn's christening, knowing that he had just signed Dante's death certificate without giving it a second thought. I was even repulsed by Spinelli, whose detective work set everything into motion. Moreover, I was sickened by his cavalier attitude regarding Dante's imminent demise, and the fact that he never showed an ounce of remorse or regret until Maxie told him that Lulu h
