The First Step: GH

Ever since Michael got attacked in prison there was little doubt that he was actually raped. The only uncertainty, it seemed, was whether this would ever be acknowledged by any of the characters. Now that Michael has taken the brave first step of letting people know what happened to him, the question now is what effect will this have on the rest of the characters and storylines? This revelation is most certainly a pivotal moment for GH because the fallout has the potential to either make or break the show.

Fellow soap blogger Silas Kain at Soapbox1 discusses the possible ways in which GH could address Michael's rape in a new blog post titled "This is your moment, Michael Corinthos." In this post Silas also discusses what the possible ramifications could be for other core characters if this storyline unfolds the way it should. 1. Paula,

Let's hope, now that this storyline is so important and way more exciting than Brenda and Sonny's wedding, that GH writers don't just let it die an unnatural death.

It would be nice if Carly would like, grow up or something.

  2. Silas Kain's blog was absolutely stellar. It was so of staggering remembering the connection Michael has to so many characters on GH. The potential to bring them all into play is mind bending, but who's in charge? not likely.
We will probably see only the main characters who were responsible for Michael being placed on the road that culminated here. Carly, Sonny and Jason. I refuse to list Dante as responsible, because he IS NOT. We have seen Jason Morgan's agony & feeling of helplessness because he knows how his actions led here. Silas Kain said the love he and Michael have is "pure" and I agree. There is nothing he won't do for this young man and Michael trusts him implicitly. Watching them talk about his assault has been amazing & has burnt out my tear ducts. Watching Dante's devastating just about killed me. But there goes Carly, she had me initially while comforting her son. But then she attacks Dante. No significant responsibility taken by her for what SHE has done with Michael's life. I cannot wait to see Sonny's response.

  3. Hi Peggy!

I'm afraid to get my hopes up that this storyline could turn out to be anything other than an offensive disappointment after what happened with the Kristina abuse storyline.

And yes Carly needs to take it down a notch. I fear she is starting to lose her mind.

  4. Hi flacaa6!

I completely agree. Dante is just the scapegoat for all of this. The cover-up started all of this. The show is just using the Dante character as another prop for the mob. I knew that they would never let him be Mr. all-around good guy for long. And I know that this storyline is going to turn out to be such a huge disappointment. Franco will be back at the end of the month so all the focus will probably be, like Silas said, on getting revenge on him. And it would be fine if part of the show focused on that, but that doesn't need to take center stage.

  5. Loved Silas' take on the ripple affect this storyline could have onGH. Sadly think Guza will be the one to slam the oar into the ripples like driving a speed boat in a no wake zone. Dante is def blame for sending micheal to prison everything Carly said was true he should have known. He could have had him confess through proper channels protecting micheal legally. Carly has taken blame for her part as has jason. I loved everything silas said about sonny. In my opinion Guza has fallen short even portraying mob related stories sonny and jason are too wussy real mob wouldhave just killed people like claudia.anthony franco even johnny. This could also help with budget cuts lol jus kill the ones you fire lol

All About Mia: DOOL

After months of allowing herself to be deceived and manipulated by Nicole and Stefano so that she could keep her baby's adoption intact, only to find out that said baby wasn't hers because her baby had died, one would think that Mia would have enough drama to last a lifetime. Instead it seems that she has picked up a few bad habits from Nicole because she has turned to manipulating Gabi in order to stake her claim on Chad, someone she didn't seem to want a few weeks ago. As if the Mia character wasn't irritating enough already, this newly calculative Mia is actually making me feel sorry for Gabi, which only makes her that much more irritating. I was stunned that she used Nicole's hearing as an opportunity to drive a wedge between Chad and Gabi, the same hearing that they were discussing her baby's death and the kidnapping of Will's baby sister. In doing this she not only undermined Will's importance in her life, but Sydney and Grace's as well...and p

10 Ways General Hospital Could Improve

I doubt if I'm alone in saying that there is a lot wrong with General Hospital these days. While it continues to be one of my favorite soaps there are many changes I would make immediately if I had the power. Below is a list of the top ten suggestions I have for the way the show could improve. 1. The Claire/Sonny storyline needs to be dropped. It isn't working. Their conversations are boring and the context of their relationship is, well...icky. 2. Amp up Lisa's craziness. Despite my earlier distaste for a Robin/Patrick/Lisa triangle, the obsessed ex-girlfriend angle is working. It's interesting and very soapy. 3. Ronnie needs to be established as either a cop with a chip on his shoulder or someone who works for Franco. So far I haven't been able to tell whether Ronnie falls more on the side of good or bad because this character hasn't been clearly defined. 4. Brenda's life away from Port Charles and the people that surround it need to become an int

False Accusations: GH

When I watched Friday's GH I was positive Carly destroyed Brenda's wedding dress. She's been acting a little crazy lately anyway and I was sure that Michael's problems finally pushed her over the edge when I heard her conversation with Sonny. I'm sure there was a big part of her that thought it was in Michael's best interest to tell Sonny what happened to him. However it was clear that her primary motivation for talking to Sonny before Michael had a chance to was to make sure he blamed Dante. When that didn't happen she turned her attention to Brenda, implying that she would hurt Sonny, which would in turn hurt Michael. Of course Brenda hurting Sonny is primarily contingent on Carly telling him about Brenda's baby at the wedding. Carly is so worried about how Sonny's reaction to hearing this news will affect Michael, yet she is the one who insists on delivering it and in the worst possible way. Obviously Carly has issues with Brenda and with seeing
