Great Cesar's Ghost: GH

I think we all knew after last Friday's episode that Duke was really Cesar Faison, even those of us who weren't watching GH the last time he wreaked havoc in Port Charles. It made perfect sense that a supervillain would be holding Robin captive. How else would one explain her surviving that explosion? Only a supervillain could pull that off; and only a supervillain could make the idea of someone passing themselves off as someone else by wearing a latex mask seem plausible. I'm a little irritated that Anna didn't pick up on the fact that she was kissing someone with a rubber face, but I'm willing to let go of that for now because this reveal answered a lot of lingering questions about why "Duke" would be holding Robin captive. I had all but resigned myself to the fact that the writers must have been making things up as they went along, with little or no regard for the show's history. I am pleased that was not the case and that GH's history is actua…

Bad Goodbye: GH

Words cannot express how much I hate the way GH is writing Steve Burton out of the show. I realize his leaving sort of came as a surprise, but in my opinion they could have given him a better send off than the one he is getting. It feels extremely rushed and quite frankly a little convoluted. First of all we have Bernie with his sudden hand-wringing over something that supposedly happened almost a year ago; and he just has to meet Jason on the night he finally reunites with Sam...on the pier no less.  And don't even get me started on how Joe Scully and "Duke Lavery" are involved in all of this. Up until a few months ago Joe was an antiques dealer working in a little known shop that probably wasn't even being used as a front. In addition there is no way Jason would ever allow himself to be shot in the back. He would have looked around the pier to make sure he wasn't walking into an ambush before ever trying to talk to Bernie. However the most upsetting thing about…

Excuse Me for Living: A Review

Let me preface this by saying that I really, really wanted to like this film. In fact I was certain I would after watching the trailer. Aside from the talented cast of former soap stars and veteran actors, the premise of the film seemed fresh, funny, and original, a rarity by today's standards. The problem with Excuse Me for Living is that it feels unfinished. Watching it was a little like looking at a puzzle that's incomplete. All of the pieces are there, but no picture has been formed.

Most of the characters needed more depth. There were glimpses of this throughout the film but nothing ever really materialized. For instance, I needed a better reason for Dan's (Tom Pelphrey) drug use than the fact that his friends got him hooked. In addition I did not find it believable that his friends would purposely keep him addicted to drugs out of sheer jealousy. I think the story would have been better served if Dan had just been an overindulged celebrity, whose drug problem was fu…

Hollywood Heights Update!

Well, it's the last week of Teen Nick's primetime soap Hollywood Heights, or is it? Fans have been campaigning all season for the show to be renewed for a second season, even though as a telenovela it was designed to end after 80 episodes. Now it seems that one of the stars of the show may be hinting at a second season, or was he? You be the judge and keep checking back here for more updates!

Defying All Logic: Hollywood Heights

After watching what has unfolded on Hollywood Heights the past few weeks I decided I had to say something about the latest plot twist. If you have been watching the show lately I'm sure you already know that I am referring to the storyline that has everyone believing Eddie is dead. When this storyline first began it had the potential of being a compelling mystery, which, in all honesty should have been resolved by now, especially since the show is nearing the end of its run. (So far it hasn't been picked up for a second season and likely won't be.)

The plot twist that started out so promising quickly turned into something laughable. First of all Eddie said that after he stopped at this gas station in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night, he needed to use the restroom. Apparently he couldn't hold it until he reached a safer location, so he left his car, wallet, and I'm assuming keys with creepy gas station guy. I know Eddie isn't exactly known for tr…
