Old Habits: GH

Spinelli should be grateful that Maxie did not want to marry him because obviously it does not take much to turn her head. Granted she and Franco have great chemistry. And of course General Hospital could not have a movie star join the show without giving him a "love" interest, but Franco made Maxie look like a foolish young girl. In fact as the days pass I think Maxie will find that she has a lot to be embarrassed about. Not only did it take very little for her to cheat on Spinelli, but she essentially slept with Franco on a dare, all the while convincing herself that she was in control of the situation. However, Franco was the only one that really got anything out of their encounter. He was able to use someone close to Jason for his perverse mind games and get that same person to basically insist on sleeping with him, all without ever having to agree to do the Crimson shoot.

From the moment Maxie met Franco it was obvious that she was attracted to him and did not trust herself to be alone with him. And even though she didn't try very hard to resist him, his misogynistic attitude seemed to melt away any resolve she might have had. Most women would consider misogyny an unattractive quality, but then again Maxie isn't most women. With great insight and minimal effort, Franco was able to bring out vintage Maxie, the Maxie that saw any opportunity to self-destruct and took it. And whatever else Franco might be, I think he is an observer of human nature, pointing out and exploiting weaknesses, emotional or otherwise. He certainly found Maxie's Achilles' heel and was able to use that to his advantage. And I suspect he may be trying to use this same talent to expose Jason's.

  1. Well thank goodness the only "bodice ripping" was his. Kinda disappointed in Maxie.

  2. Sometimes I wonder what the writers were thinking when they write something SO OUT OF CHARACTER that is makes us ALL cringe. Not only do we now think Maxie is a moralless slut and faithless friend, but the once saavy quick woman has turned into inept, lame high schooler who wants to be a femme fatale. I was disgusted. What WERE they THINKING? or maybe they weren't thinking at all. The whole thing is waaay off kilter for me.

  3. I think you hit it. Also, as for Jason being an artist, his art is in his crimes.

All About Mia: DOOL

After months of allowing herself to be deceived and manipulated by Nicole and Stefano so that she could keep her baby's adoption intact, only to find out that said baby wasn't hers because her baby had died, one would think that Mia would have enough drama to last a lifetime. Instead it seems that she has picked up a few bad habits from Nicole because she has turned to manipulating Gabi in order to stake her claim on Chad, someone she didn't seem to want a few weeks ago. As if the Mia character wasn't irritating enough already, this newly calculative Mia is actually making me feel sorry for Gabi, which only makes her that much more irritating. I was stunned that she used Nicole's hearing as an opportunity to drive a wedge between Chad and Gabi, the same hearing that they were discussing her baby's death and the kidnapping of Will's baby sister. In doing this she not only undermined Will's importance in her life, but Sydney and Grace's as well...and p

Bad Goodbye: GH

Words cannot express how much I hate the way GH is writing Steve Burton out of the show. I realize his leaving sort of came as a surprise, but in my opinion they could have given him a better send off than the one he is getting. It feels extremely rushed and quite frankly a little convoluted. First of all we have Bernie with his sudden hand-wringing over something that supposedly happened almost a year ago; and he just has to meet Jason on the night he finally reunites with Sam...on the pier no less.  And don't even get me started on how Joe Scully and "Duke Lavery" are involved in all of this. Up until a few months ago Joe was an antiques dealer working in a little known shop that probably wasn't even being used as a front. In addition there is no way Jason would ever allow himself to be shot in the back. He would have looked around the pier to make sure he wasn't walking into an ambush before ever trying to talk to Bernie. However the most upsetting thing about
